I have been working a lot lately on releasing. Primarily, I’m focusing on releasing pain caused by overuse and inadequate stretching. At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself. Lessons are often learned the hard way and recognizing underlying, or root, causes is paramount to healing.
We often want to blame others or other things for the pain we experience. For me, I could blame my age, my heart medication, my busy life, or about a half dozen other things. Yep, been there, done that. Yet, as I begin this healing work in earnest, I, inevitably, find that the deeper I go into the process the more I recognize how many steps away from my source I’ve actually taken.
That’s the answer to my why.
And that’s where the true work begins. Yes, the physical work to repair the physical damage is needed and necessary and worth it. It’s not enough, though. Only when I spend an equal amount of time sitting with God can I bring myself back to center.
Only then can I truly heal. Only then do I experience the release of both the external and the internal pain. Only then do I find peace.
From my heart to yours, Diane
