There are so many things to do, so much to be concerned about. Some days there is just not enough “time”. You fall asleep thinking of what is left undone and add it to the list you already had prepared for tomorrow. You wonder when will it all slow down.
You realize that you can’t remember the last time you just did nothing. No work, no computer, no TV, no running errands, no tennis/soccer/baseball/lacrosse games, no music or band practice, no late night/early morning meetings, no making breakfast/dinner, no planning vacations, packing/unpacking for everyone, rearranging, cleaning, weeding, mowing, entertaining….
Time for you? Wait…how did that happen? How did you get to this place where everything and everyone is a priority but you? With all the spinning plates and juggling that you manage to do every day you would think you could fit you in there somewhere. You schedule everything else, yes?
Maybe it’s time to let go of the need to be the everything for everyone. Maybe it’s time for you. Take a breath. Put your name at the top of your “to-do” list. Take another breath and smile. You can do this – and everyone will benefit when you put you first.
So, my wish for you is this:
That you have time every day to walk outside, have a meaningful conversation about something important but not have to solve anything, that you laugh from the bottom of your belly until your eyes tear, and that you find a reason to dance across the kitchen floor. And if you can find someone (human, animal or imaginary) to kiss on the nose – all the better.
Enjoy the sweetness of life. It really is yours to enjoy.
From my heart to yours, Diane
